Pan-London ST678 Paediatric Programme
Health Education Team, London and and South East organises and manages the pan-London ST678 paediatric programme, but clearly the placements are based all across the different sectors of London.
Trainees, whether GRID or non-GRID, transition into this programme after their ‘core registrar’ years at ST4 and ST5 level.
This programme supports the training of paediatricians in their final three years of their run-through programme (ST6-8). In addition to giving trainees the opportunity to develop RCPCH Level 3 general (and if applicable sub-specialty) competencies our programme also aims to support trainees to develop experience and capability in a wide range of other areas in readiness for their CCT and starting as a consultant. The aim is that our trainees will become paediatricians who can deliver and lead high quality care for children and young people in a wide range of settings across London.
The programme is run by a team of Programme Leads and Training Programme Directors, with support from Health Education England and South East. We also have fantastic input from the London School of Paediatrics Trainee Committee whose ideas, energy and support are at the heart of many of the innovations within the programme.
