24th October: Managing healthcare resources in your department
LME presents its Management Skills series to help you prepare for your management responsibilities as a Consultant.
Dr Giles Kendall, Consultant and Clinical Lead for Neonatal Medicine (UCLH) and
Honorary Senior Lecturer Neonatal Neuroimaging and Neuroprotection (UCL) will deliver this months LME evening and the first of the Management skills evenings. He trained in management at both Ashridge and the King’s fund and is a fantastic, vibrant speaker.
Could you explain the difference in roles between clinical lead, clinical director and medical director?
Do you know the available resources in your department and how to influence them?
How would you use change management to deal with differing opinion to affect change?
In the lead up to the ‘winter crisis’ learn through this practical session how to be more effective at managing the healthcare resources in your own department and how to work with, rather than against the managers in your hospital for the good of your patients!
Aimed at ST6-8 but why wait? Open to all levels.
