The NCEL Training Programme Management Committee (ST1-5) had our bi-monthly meeting this week. This was an opportunity for Trainee reps and college tutors to join the TPDs and TPD lead Su Laurent to share best practice and explore new training initiatives in the NCEL sector. Thank you to all who came and enthusiastically shared their thoughts and ideas to drive training forward in the sector. It would be great to see every Trust in the sector represented at these meetings as I am sure we can all learn from each other.
The Trainee reps have been busy populating the training calendar. There are lots of teaching events happening across the sector so do have a look at the calendar on the website. If you have a teaching session at your Trust that is open to NCEL trainees get in touch with Roisin Begley and Harriet Gunn . We rely on College Tutors and Trust reps to let us know of all the fabulous teaching available in the sector so do get in touch.
Trust reps have all been asked to prepare JIGs (Job Information Guides)- everything you wish you were knew on your first day of the job. JIGs provide valuable information about training posts in NCEL and can include everything from which is the nearest tube station for the hospital to where to find the guidelines folders. JIGs will be used to provide a smooth transition into a new post and to help trainees choose rotations.
The next meeting is on 8th July from 3:30pm. Hope to see you there.
