Key news from the NCEL TPMC meeting held this month follows. We had a fantastic meeting with trainees and tutors from across the sector. There was much enthusiasm and sharing of good practice in delivering training at local level.
Dalbir Sohi, North Middlesex College tutor, is taking on the role of NCEL Local Faculty Group (LFG) Champion. She has organised exemplary LFG meetings at North Middlesex and is happy to share her experience and tips with the rest of the sector.
NCEL ST3 information evening for ST4 placements was held last month. It was hugely popular with trainees finding it really useful for understanding the matching process and meeting trainee reps and trainers from hospitals across the sector. The deadline to return your ST4/5 matching form is 20 March 2015.

The monthly Case Exchange evenings are now up and running well. A big thank you to our dedicated trainees for getting this established in the sector. There is commitment from all Trusts to facilitate attendance at these meetings. The next one is on 16th March at UCLH and will focus on Safeguarding. We know that being asked to provide reports for Serious Incident (SIs) investigations is a very stressful experience for anyone involved. The Supporting Trainees Subgroup is exploring what guidance and support is available for trainees and what information trainers have to support trainees. A survey has been emailed to all trainees and college tutors across London. Please do spend a few minutes completing the questionnaire. We hope to be able to use the information to provide guidance at a Pan- London level.
