You will be contacted in good time before ST6 begins, generally in January, with a list of all available rotations. You have the opportunity to inform the matching team of your interests for the remainder of your training and this will be taken into account. Generally as a General Paediatric Trainee you should expect some Sub-Specialty experience within a Teaching Hospital, and usually your last year will be in a District General Hospital. If you are intending to apply for the Gird you still need to complete the matching paperwork, indicating clearly that you are applying to the Grid. The panel will then make sure they place you in Grid-approved posts for ST6.
