I’m just back from a lightning visit to Liverpool to the 2016 RCPCH Conference. Wherever I looked I could see posters with names of London trainees on them …… quality improvement projects, audits, small research studies – just a fantastically strong showing from the London School of Paediatrics trainers and trainees! Really brilliant!
However, special mention needs to be made of Godwin Oligbu, Catherine O’Sullivan and Felicity Fitzgerald‘s contributions. These 3 London trainees all had plenary presentations at the Conference. Godwin presented his work looking at pneumococcal vaccine failure at Tuesday’s plenary, as did Catherine who showcased her work which has looked at Group B Strep sepsis in babies <90 days old. At the Wednesday plenary Felicity described her work in Sierra Leone in the Ebola outbreak looking at means of screening and early diagnosis/triage. All 3 of these trainees did terrifically well and deserve huge congratulations from us all in the School! Very well done!
