Well done to Christina Snowdon and Katherine Jamieson, paediatric trainees who received an award today at the Royal Society of Medicine. The School, in collaboration with the RSM, provide an award each year to the trainee(s) who ran the most impressive School of Paediatrics Study Day. Christina and Katherine hosted the Safeguarding day last May and received extraordinary feedback. The judging panel were impressed with the way Christina and Katherine chaired the day to make the most educational impact and how they linked the learning from the study day to other learning opportunities. Christina and Katherine today received a certificate together with a financial award. It was lovely that Christina was able to attend with her baby, Theodore, and accept the award on behalf of herself and Katherine.
The School runs monthly Study Days at the RSM aimed at Level 2 trainees and open to all. In the evenings we run the ST6-8 Development Evenings, also at the RSM. Many trainees come to both and tell us that it is fun and ‘do-able’.
We are very grateful to the very large number of trainees and trainers who contribute to these events and are always impressed by the very high standards.
