A small number of places have been released for London School of Paediatrics (LSP) trainees to attend Patients and Families as the New Educators on 20th October at the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM). The meeting focuses on Patients, Families and Health Care Professionals improving practice together, valuing and activating contributions, working in true partnership. The day has a tremendous line up of speakers from across the UK and is jointly hosted by the RSM and the RCPCH.
Places for trainees normally cost £70-95. The LSP has for 25 places to be available for its trainees for just £10, with the balance paid by LSP. These are available on a first come, first served basis, with a deadline of 24th September. Aims of the meeting include
- examples of high quality engagement with patients and families who use child health services.
- approaches that are best suited to different ages.
- the value of listening to patients and families and the resource that is released by working in partnership and will learn techniques for doing this.
- the link between quality of care and reciprocity of learning between professional and patient.
