This session is ideal for those embarking on the START assessment, being based on the START scenario for the ‘Logistics and Organisation’ station, where the candidate must discuss their approach to setting up a new clinical service in their department. If you wouldn’t have a clue where to ‘START’ (pun intended) then you’re not alone and this session is for you.
Using the case example of setting up an integrated service, Dr Bob Klaber and Dr Mando Watson will test your ability to problem solve and think outside the box and ultimately give you a framework to use when considering ‘Setting up a service’.
You will learn the best ways to demonstrate the need for a new service, including benchmarking practices, as well as being introduced to useful tools such as SWOT analysis.
This session links with ‘How to write a business case’ on the 6th June.
