The RSM study day on Evidence Based Medicine is taking place on Tuesday 10th November 2015. This day is aimed at Paediatric trainees of all levels and will help deliver learning for many of the competencies in the curriculum that relate to EBM.
Topics will include evidence-based practice and policy, statistics (in brief) for paediatricians, prescribing, and systematic reviews.
There will be lectures from inspirational speakers including: Professor Neena Modi (President of the RCPCH, Professor of Neonatal Medicine), Dr Bob Phillips (Editor of Archimedes, Archives of Diseases in Childhood), and Professor Ruth Gilbert (Professor of Clinical Epidemiology).
There will also be interactive small-group sessions, with the opportunity to discuss topics such as how to undertake research during paediatric training, research ethics, grant applications, and critical appraisal.
To help tailor the content of the day to the most appropriate level, please let us know your previous research experience (e.g. none, local audit cycle, higher degree). You can do this by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com.
Suitable for all paediatric trainees (ST1-8). Please make an effort to register in advance to guarantee a delicious lunch and put future RSM dates in your diary now to request study leave!
