One-day course for health professionals led by experienced paediatric consultants and authors Caroline Fertleman, Gayle Hann and Annette Langseth.
The aim of this course is to facilitate small group discussion between professionals to enable us to work together more effectively in the management of child sexual abuse. Topics include peer on peer abuse, gang violence, self-harm, harmful sexual behaviour, gender dysphoria, slavery, trafficking, female genital mutilation and the role of culture and religion in sexual abuse.
Through this course you will:
– Understand the complexity of relationships in cases of child sexual abuse
– Be able to assess your own response to child sexual abuse
– Understand the processes involved in management of child sexual abuse
– Develop communication skills required to deal with sensitive issues around child sexual abuse
